Hello 2025
It’s been months. I wanted to write everyday and I didn’t. Turns out I knitted like a mad woman day in and day out. I made about 20 items just for donation alone in 2024. That’s nuts, but what else am I to do when I’ve got no where to go and no money to spend?
Well, 2025 is here as well as possibly two separate terrorist attacks, which at this point, is such an American way to wake up to a new year. I’m such a hard ass New Yorker than even 9/11 didn’t shock me. All these mass shootings, attacks and death to CEO’s (looking at you Mr. Luigi), do absolutely nothing to make me sad, mad or upset. They just are.
Anyway, I got my 2025 Witches’ Calendar, which I put up this morning, discarding the old one, and quickly marking the new one up with upcoming birthdays and events. Ana swears that she won’t do three clubs in a row this spring. Already we have tap, Girl Scouts, book club and beginning in February, indoor tennis. (Ana likes to live the life of a child whose mother makes 10 times as much as I do, but these programs are all FREE in Weehawken.)
I didn’t know what planner to get this year. I didn’t really vibe with the one from Goddess Provisions, and Biddy stopped printing hers, not that it was that great. I may get the Witches’ Datebook then, as I haven’t had that one since college, so about 20 years ago. I’m happy they still print it. I use my planners for daily tarot pulls, so my actual journal doesn’t get clogged up.
Most of today was spent setting up my 2025 monthly calendar which is in my Traveler’s Company Notebook. It takes HOURS to set it up properly. There aren’t moon phases, or American holidays and certainly not Wiccan ones. It’s printed in Japanese and English, so I must add those things I actually pay attention to.
Above is this month. I even printed out moon phase stickers with my thermal printer. They’re a bitch to cut out, but work way better than what I was doing last year with half inch stamps that took up nearly the entire box. I did purchase the official 2025 stickers this year, I hadn’t in a number of years because they’re prone to selling out. I was smart and ordered in November. One must plan two months in advance in order to have a successful year in planning.
The only other thing I did today was a yearly tarot spread from @lionharts:
I got The Star for February and that’s great because that’s the card associated with Aquarius. Looks like a great year ahead without too much turmoil, one can only hope anyway.
Of course, I cooked and cleaned today, got a loaf of sour dough going. I ran out of whole wheat flour, so this loaf I bake tomorrow will be more white than we like, but anything slathered in Irish butter is delicious.
I wanted to take down the Yule decor and redo the door, but I didn’t have the energy. In between all that I tried to finish a sweater for Athena. I’m literally casting off the button band, and I couldn’t continue. My hands hurt, probably because of the impending Arctic blast. I switched back to my professional needle set which is stainless steel, not great for severe arthritis in the winter, but damn it, they’re fast and my stitches look so lovely!
Now it’s time to read a bit before I go to sleep. I’ve started a new cozy murder mystery series that takes place in a tiny Irish Village, naturally their murder rate is obscene. My cup of tea.
I’m going to make an effort to write more. Keep my chops up so to speak. I hope you had a wonderful New Year dear reader, despite the chaos of the world.
Ciao.
🎉
