Kite Night

We purchased two kites back in 2019 for Kite Night and never got to go.  Then, the pandemic happened and they sat unused until tonight.  Ana has been begging to fly them for over two years.  She finally had her chance.

Yes, it is a ladybug kite, because of course that’s what Shadow bought for his baby girl.  Ana flew this thing for over two hours tonight.  The sun set, turning the skyscrapers a glowing orange and she ran and ran and ran some more, cheeks pink, having more fun than I’ve seen her have in ages.

I truly believe Shadow was there making that kite soar for his little girl.  She got really good at it by the end and began to cry when it was time to go home.  The park attendant said that they would host another one hopefully next month when it’s warmer.  They’d like it to be a regular thing.

I’m sure baby girl would love that.
